African Caribbean Society

The RAUACS group was started in 2017, with a group of students feeling that African and Caribbean culture should be shown around the university and in the hope that it will be shared amongst those in the RAU Community. We feel this is important as there is such a big African community within the RAU, as well as those that are just interested in African and Caribbean culture. Currently we have 66 members in the society and are always welcoming more.

We have members from so many different African Countries including; Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Namibia, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Congo, Jamaica, Uganda, Malawi and many more.

Feel Free to join our Facebook Page: RAUACS and to follow us on Instagram: RAUACS

The Current Committee for the society consists of;
Natalie Samantha, Dorcas Kti, Danelle Steinke, Blaede Russell, Gabriel Jones, James Waller, Jeremy Harris, Khalid Somani, David Long, Pete Moores. (a few of the committee members pictured below)

So far, we have run two main events that have included everyone in the RAU community:
African Caribbean day 2017 , Caribbean Carnival Night 2017

Our next even is African Caribbean day 2018 which will be 23rd February 2018, you have the chance to try some African food and buy some African Jewellery and ornaments with all proceeds going to a charity which is to be chosen in due course.
