Job Description: RAG Chair
Term: 1st August 2024 to 31st July 2025
Relationships with: Students’ Union Staff, Elected Officers, Trustees, Students, University staff, University Governors and external agencies

Main Purpose of the Role
The RAG Chair is a part-time, voluntary, elected student representative who will be the primary Officer for developing, organising, publicising and delivering on all RAG activities throughout the year, including RAG week.

As the Students’ Union RAG Chair, you will:
- Be an Ambassador for the Students’ Union, safeguarding its good name and values
- Be a member of the Students’ Union Executive Committee, attending all meetings, holding the President to account, advocating on behalf of all matters related to RAG
- Be the primary contact and key representative on the Students’ Union for charitable activities
- Chair and coordinate the RAG Committee (3 times per year)
- Liaise with the Sabbatical Officers and Union staff to identify suitable RAG Charities, where the final decisions will be decided by a student vote
- Provide a full RAG calendar of events in a timely manner
- Promote RAG Week and its programme of fundraising activities via social media and other relevant channels
- Partner with the President, Vice Presidents and other officers to organise and coordinate RAG Week events and other RAG fundraising activities throughout the year
- Encourage new events to support your fundraising during RAG Week and throughout the year and work
- Actively encourage feedback and idea from students around RAG activities
- Work with Union staff to maintain financial records for all fundraising events – ensuring they are profit making - and provide financial reports as and when required
- Ensure a commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across all Students’ Union activities
- Provide student representation on University committees as required
- Work closely with the Students’ Union staff and the elected officers to support the effective management of the Students’ Union
