BUCS Sport

British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) is the national governing body for university sport in the UK with a vision to enhance student experience through sport. They support the lifestyle & educational benefits to students of taking part in sport. BUCS is one of the cornerstones of university sport and provides fantastic competition for individual and team athletes. BUCS fixtures are typical played on a Wednesday afternoon, with individual and some events taking place on weekends. 

The SU supports all students who want to repersent the university in BUCS competitions. 

For the 24/25 season, the RAU has 9 teams competing in the BUCS league system.

  • Mixed Equestrian- South West Pool
  • Men's Football- Western 6B
  • Men's Hockey- Western 3A
  • Women's Hockey 1st- Western 4A
  • Women's Hockey 2nd- Western 4A
  • Netball- Westren 6B
  • Women's Lacrosse- Western 2B
  • Men's Rugby Union 1st- Western 4B
  • Men's Rugby Union 2nd- Western 4A
