Are you a returning student and available Sunday 20 September – Saturday 26 September and want to help new RAU students settle in?
We’re looking for volunteers to work alongside Students’ Union and University staff to help provide a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. We’re looking for people who are happy to proactively speak to new students and help them find their feet. We are particularly keen to hear from students who were living on campus last year.
The role will involve helping to set up events, staff stands/games/equipment and hosting events, particularly looking out for anyone who may look lost or nervous.
We need you to be available to volunteer throughout the whole week. If you have been subject to any disciplinary sanctions, in accordance with RAU’s disciplinary procedure, you may not be eligible to apply - please provide details on the form.
As a thank you, you’ll get free entry to Welcome Week events and a guaranteed early bird price on your May Ball ticket.
Please note this is a responsible role and the highest standards of behaviour and conduct are required. The consumption of alcohol whilst you are volunteering is prohibited. If you fail to adhere to this or any instructions from Students’ Union staff, you will be removed from your role and will be no longer eligible to receive a half price May Ball ticket or free entry to Welcome Week events.
The full Job Description is here.
To apply please complete our short form by 9am on Monday 7 September.
If selected you will be invited to a compulsory in person trainig session in week commencing 14 September (there will be multiple session to choose from). Please ensure you have time available to attend this.
