FAQ's

Why is there only one role?

We are currently going through a significant transformation process. As part of that process, the RAUSU Board reviewed the current RAUSU Officer Structure. The decision was taken to reduce the amount of paid sabbatical officers from 1 full-time and 2 part-time, to 1 full-time President. This is in line with other students' unions representing similar amounts of students.

We will continue to do more work on the representation structure over the coming months and are hoping to hold a byelection for part-time roles in the autumn term.

How do I Nominate Myself for a Role?

In order to nominate yourself for election and vote in the election you will need to register an account.

If you have any difficulty in registering your account, email elections@rausu.co.uk and we will support you.

Once you have registered your account you may nominate yourself.

You will also need to complete a candidate declaration form. Further information can be found here: https://rausu.unioncloud.org/elections-information

Do I need to write a Manifesto?

All candidates are required to submit a written manifesto, relevant to the role they have chosen.  Nominations without a completed manifesto will be declined.  Manifestos which contravene the election rules will also be declined.

This will take place 12:30 – 13.30pm on Tuesday 1st April.

All students are welcome to attend the question time.  If you have questions for the candidates, please submit them to elections@rausu.co.uk before 12pm on Wednesday 26th March.
